1 [Μ]ενεκράτης Ἀθηνάδου εἶπεν· ἐπειδὴ
Δημοκράτης ὁ ποητὴς εὔνους ἐστὶ καὶ χρήσιμος
τεῖ πόλει καὶ τὸν θεὸν προαιρεῖται ἐνκωμιάζειν
διὰ ποημάτων, δεδόχθαι τῶι δήμωι· Δημοκράτην
5 Φιλοκλέους Ἀθηναῖον πρόξενον εἶναι καὶ εὐεργέτην
τῆς πόλεως Ὠρωπίων καὶ αὐτὸν καὶ ἐγγόνους αὐτοῦ
καὶ εἶναι αὐτοῖς γῆς καὶ οἰκίας ἔνκτησιν καὶ ἀσφάλειαν
καὶ ἀσυλίαν καὶ πολέμου καὶ εἰρήνης καὶ τἆλλα πάν-
τα καθάπερ τοῖς ἄλλοις προξένοις καὶ εὐεργέταις.
